A walk around Lyme Park

We met at Nelson Pit on Monday morning, just after the clocks had changed. What a beautiful morning it was, not a cloud to be seen.

We headed off along the canal

The Canada Geese were out in force

What a great day for a trip on the canal

After crossing the canal

007

we headed across the field

006

then up through the bracken

008

When we came here in the summer it was pouring down!

The trees looked great

as they prepare to take on their autumn colours

At the top of the hill, Paddock Cottage

013

is undergoing restoration

012

From there we head towards Lyme Park House

015

We took our break there. It being half taken it had lots of visitors.

017

and there is lots to see at this National Trust property

016

We headed off towards the cage

which was completely surrounded by blue sky.

The sundial could be seen at its best in this light

It is worth a closer look. The time of this photo was 11.41am. Not bad, I wonder what they did about the clocks changing last night!

A great place to all pose for a group photo

before we headed back to the canal
