We met at Nelson Pit on Monday morning, just after the clocks had changed. What a beautiful morning it was, not a cloud to be seen.
We headed off along the canal.
The Canada Geese were out in force.
What a great day for a trip on the canal.
After crossing the canal…
…we headed across the field…
…then up through the bracken.
When we came here in the summer it was pouring down!
The trees looked great…
…as they prepare to take on their autumn colours.
At the top of the hill, Paddock Cottage…
…is undergoing restoration.
From there we head towards Lyme Park House.
We took our break there. It being half taken it had lots of visitors…
…and there is lots to see at this National Trust property.
We headed off towards the cage…
which was completely surrounded by blue sky.
The sundial could be seen at its best in this light.
It is worth a closer look. The time of this photo was 11.41am. Not bad, I wonder what they did about the clocks changing last night!
A great place to all pose for a group photo…
…before we headed back to the canal.
