A walk around Rudyard Lake

003

We met at Rudyard Station on the miniature railway.

004

Noting the information display…

005

we set off beside the railway track.

007

We soon reached the dam…

008

…where we took the bridge across the lake.

010

The lake was as smooth as glass on this fine sunny morning.

011a

We passed the pottery display case which strangely hung out of place in the trees…

012

…and the holiday cottages perched on the hillside.

013

We are given a ‘bleating’ welcome by the weary goats…

015

…as we rise above the lake…

016

…before passing what was once the local YHA.

018

We take our break on the bridge across the stream that feeds the lake…

019

at the far end.

025

On our way back we pass a leaf strewn stream…

025a

…which is full of frogs.

030a

The geese lazily drift in the sun…

032

…as we leisurely make our way back.

033

before my wife and I enjoy a well-earned carvery at the Rudyard Hotel on this fine sunny morning
